10 Things You Should Know About Solva PDF Print E-mail
  1. Solva has the sunniest climate in Wales.Cool
  2. Solva has 4 pubs, 8 cafes and numerous shops all within 3 minutes walk of the harbour.Tongue out
  3. Solva is still a working harbour, with small fishing boats fishing for crab, lobster and, well, fish.
  4. Solva has the prettiest harbour in Wales (it's official, we took a vote).
  5. The highly competitive and well attended annual easter duck race 2010 was won by a short beak by 'Henrietta' after fending off 'Eva' in the final few feet (webbed of course).Wink
  6. The sun has just come out.Laughing
  7. The Solva Regatta is held every summer and features sailing. rowing and team raft building.
  8. In 1995 Dai-the-whale set a new record of running 35 ft on water before sinking.Undecided
  9. Guy Fawkes night is another Solva highlight, drawing hundreds of children young and old to the bonfire at the harbour. It has never been known to rain on bonfire night. Surprised
  10. Children in Solva have nothing better to do than go crabbing, swim, canoe, surf, climb rocks - oh yes, and there's all that ice cream that needs eating. The grown-ups are sometimes made to do all this as well.
  11. And yes I know we've had 10, but we can't leave out the spectacular sunsets...
